She’s Advising You to Play Hard to Get

March 27th, 2008 - Relationships & Dating

Hey Doc,

I am in pain. I’ve been dating Priscilla for a year. I met her when she was about to get a divorce, and I was the one who awakened her to her need to be treated better. I kept my distance early as she was now single again and I wanted to be sure not to be the rebound guy. But the passion was heavy. Unfortunately, I did something once that reminded her of her ex and she pulled away. So I let the leash out a bit, but never doubted her interest in me. Read more…

For Pyro students: How to make fireballs!

March 22nd, 2008 - Entertainment & Parties

I think every college student, at some point in there life, has been a pyromaniac. I love fire and I have a fetish for burning things around me (nothing too crazy). When I saw this on Make (which should be in your bookmarks already) I had to post it here.

I’m definitely trying this soon, it just looks way too cool. Also this can be a really easy effect to pull of in home made movies or film projects for a class (you’re welcome film majors)If you tried this, let us know how it went in the comments. Also share your favorite Make articles!Disclaimer: We are obviously not responsible if you or anyone/anything get hurt. Play it safe.

March 8th, 2008 - Education, Useful

Recent studies have shown that the two most popular things among college students are YouTube and the iPod. For that reason, our team at TheStudentBlog.com decided that the absolute best, most popular thing ever among college students would be a free YouTube to iPod converter software!

DVDVideoSoft Limited offers a free application, where you can convert videos from YouTube to .mp3 and .mp4 formats so that they can be viewable on your iPod. All you have to do is open the program, and provide a link of the YouTube video and then click the Download and Convert Button. Thats it!

Now you can download all those great educational videos from YouTube and have them handy on your iPod to share it with all your colleagues…

Renting Textbooks

February 21st, 2008 - Deals

We all spend hundreds of dollars every semester on textbooks for our courses. We use them for a couple of months, and if they haven’t been burned in the after-finals bonfire, we look to sell them. The painful part isn’t paying $160 for an Economics book, but finding out that we can only sell it for $30 once the semester is over. Or even worse, finding out that the book has been updated for the next semester and now it is worth nothing. Well fellow college students, we have good news. BookRenter, launched in September of 2007, allows students to rent books 30, 45, 60, 90 or 120 days. Prices are up to 75% off their retail prices, and once the course is over, all you need to do is print a free shipping label and drop it off with UPS. You know what to do with the extra money!
